About

I have about 13 years of experience in software engineering, primarily working on large-scale enterprise and payment systems.

I started my career in India and later moved to Japan, where I've worked across companies including Rakuten and Episode Six. Earlier in my career, I also worked on PayPal through the Alternate Work Force program, where I was part of the Core Payments Planning team in Bangalore. That gave me a strong foundation in payment systems and large-scale transaction processing.

At Episode Six, I worked on a large-scale SaaS payment platform, where my responsibilities evolved from hands-on engineering into broader technical leadership. I worked on architectural modernization, defined domain boundaries and service contracts, designed integrations with Visa and Mastercard using ISO8583, and led the migration toward containerized deployment on AWS EKS. I was also involved in engineering standards, observability, design reviews, and cross-team technical decisions.

Currently, I'm a Senior Staff Application Engineer and an individual contributor. I'm acting as the technical lead for two products. One of the products is an AI-powered SaaS platform using foundational LLMs, with a focus on legacy modernization. My responsibilities span architecture, development processes, deployment strategy, security, design reviews, code reviews, hands-on development, and discussions around the product roadmap.

What I enjoy most is working on complex technical problems, turning them into scalable system designs, and helping teams make good engineering decisions while still staying hands-on.

Episode SixTokyo, Japan

  • Refactored a large-scale monolithic SaaS payment platform into a single repo with four production services — api, payments, jobs, and batch — handling live cross-region traffic, cutting engineer onboarding time by 40%.
  • Designed the HLD/LLD for integration layers between the core payment engine and VISA/Mastercard ISO8583 networks, sustaining 99.9% uptime across 1M+ monthly transactions.
  • Led migration to containerized deployments on AWS EKS, adding health checks, rolling updates, and auto-healing for improved fault tolerance.
  • Built an observability stack — CloudWatch, structured logging, distributed tracing — that cut incident-resolution time by 40%.
